FBH Remote/ Receiver problem?

Hi All

my FBH remote or receiver seems to have developed the fault of not working remotely. The system will turn on and off with the remote as long as the remote is within about 6 inches of the receiver.

If the remote is more than 6 inches from the receiver the green or red lights just flash when I press the on or off buttons. If the remote is within 6 inches of the receiver the FBH fires up or shuts down and I get a constant green or red light when I press the buttons for on and off

I have tried new batteries in the remote and that has not fixed the problem.

It works with the car locked or unlocked as long as I am standing at the back just by the receiver.

The remote worked last year from inside my house (25meters or so).

I have the T89/90 remote

Any ideas? is there a way I can test to see if it is a remote or receiver problem? I have checked in at the back and all the cables look and feel like they are attached

Thanks

I had a similar problem with my remote after 4-5 years of use. I indeed changed the battery too - but it was one from a "value pack" purchased in a Pound shop Embarassed and made no difference.
After changing it for a branded battery it went back back to normal Thumbs Up

Worth trying a different battery if u haven't already.

I have tried new batteries and given the contacts a clean and this has not improved the range.

Anyone got any other suggestions? before I try a new transmitter.

is there anything I can check on the receiver side with my IID tool? 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Probably daft question, but have you put the correct voltage battery in? Some RF fobs use 12v batteries that are physically the same size as 1.5v ones....I'm not familiar with the T89/90 one. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

Axle, I have had a look in the rear compartment by the fuse box and the aerial connection looks and feels secure.

taskam, I took the old batteries with me when I bought the new ones, double checked them and they are both 12v. I did notice the Duracell batteries seemed to have a small lip on them, but the energiser ones don't and are tight in the holder 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Still can't get my FBH remote to work, so far I have tried the following

1. new batteries in Remote
2. Paring procedure a few times, been disconnecting the 3 pin plug from Webasto receiver in rear fuse box
3. Made sure main battery is fully charged (new Bosch one in March following alternator problem)
4. Checked for 12v supply to receiver unit
5. checked the aerial connections

Anyone got any suggestions before I go on e-bay and buy a new remote? 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Is it cold enough for the fbh to fire up ?
May be worth a email to webasto to see if it's just telling you what it's doing ???
Do the lights flash on the remote ?
Also drop French Mike a email... He's the kiddy on these bad boys tignous84@free.fr

My guess is that it's the antenna connection in the remote fob that's bad. I think getting a new one from ebay would eliminate another variable, can always sell it on. 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE Java Black

Can you not try someone else's fob on yours (if you have someone close by that doesn't mind you re synching thiers to yours for testing purposes) that would eliminate/prove the remote at least ?

Not aware of anyone local to me with FFRR and an FBH remote.

Ordered a new transmitter off E-bay and will try that

- Steve, lights on the transmitter work, press either button and I think I get 6 flashes red-off, green-on

- taskam you could be right about an antenna problem as the range dropped to about 12" before it stopped working (not worked since even with new batteries and following all the programming) 56 TDV8 Vogue SE
