Hi,

When stopping the SC, engaging P, activating the park brake on an incline and then releasing the footbrake when getting out of the car it makes quite loud squeaky creak (we had a Disco3 that did that from almost new as well). Any ideas please?

I am guessing it is just the parking brake taking up the strain. My TD6 doesn't squeak, but you feel the drums coming on line so to speak. Try applying handbrake, go to Nuetral, take foot off brake in Neutral, let handbrake take the weight, then footbrake back on to go into Park. This is the "approved" method (awaits with interest ) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

There's a 'roll' moving into park as the pawl grabs - it's not a huge amount in the gearbox but as it gets to the driveline it is exaggerated. Nearly all automatic gearboxes do this. So either put it in park, foot off brake, let it 'roll' then handbrake to lock, or expect physics to occur  Land Rover Addict

Hmm, mine's never made a creaking sound though I just put my foot on the brake and press the start/stop button and the car puts it into park and applies the parking brake. I'm assuming it knows what it is doing. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11

Never knew any of that (knew nothing was wrong with the car. I just put it down to, as you say, physics. Will try your suggestions and report back).

Another vote for a variation of the above method.

I do footbrake, Neutral, apply e-brake, release footbrake to allow for any movement if on a slope, re-apply footbrake, Park.

Clearly, I don't do this all the time. At work on a completely level carpark, I just go straight into Park with no e-brake. Si. <This is my name.
