United States 2011 Range Rover Supercharged 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green
First snow storm of the season

We had a foot of snow dumped in the area today in a few hours. The Rangie was absolutely superb all day. Plenty of silly drivers out on the roads, stranded and spinning their wheels. Felt rather smug chugging along in the supercharged.

Every time we get a snow dusting, light or heavy, there are plenty of cars and SUVs off the side of the road. I had to stop numerous times today to help people get their cars out and teach them basic driving in snow. Amazed at how many folks have no idea of how to drive in these conditions, given that we get snow every year. 2015 RR Supercharged - Aintree Green

Yup

most if not ALL of them with normal "all season" tyres. Rubbish on snow and ice. Most are still convinced that this is the way to go. Yawn

I would be interested to know what tyres you have? Funny we have the same car in the same colour! Smile

There is just one 22inch snow tyre for our RR available, from Continental.

Do you really need it in St Tropez? Wink

No snow in St Tropez but I do travel from time to time to the mountains and actually coming your way this winter.
For your information max. wheel size for L322 is 20inch not 22, only the Conti Crosscontact Winter is officially approved but for the L405 Michelin and Pirelli are also approved. My dealer actually recommended Pirelli Winters so you are not limited to approved LR tyres. Plenty of forum members have non approved tyres on their Range Rover (Vredestein and other brands and are perfectly happy with them).

I just have the factory Michelin latitudes that came with the car. Once they are worn, I will be changing them to more aggressive off-road tyres. 2015 RR Supercharged - Aintree Green

Our roads were a mess, with cars and pile ups everywhere. The conditions weren't bad, just a lot of stupid drivers out there who don't know how to drive in snowy conditions.

The supercharged Rangie was sure footed even though I only had all season Michelins on them.

What I found satisfying was that many Prius were stranded not because of conditions but because of driver error. Nothing more satisfying than chugging past a normally smug, self righteous stranded Prius driver in the supercharged. Those death stares definitely stemmed from envy yesterday rather than the normal save the earth bs. 2015 RR Supercharged - Aintree Green

as far as I know, there is only Conti having a 275/40/22 winter tyre. If you go for smaller Dimensions, there are more options. Or its is not rated for speed and/or weight.
Pirelli and Michelin don't give results with this dimension, nor Vredestein, all tough they have a 295/30/22

Your are probably talking of tyre sizes for the L405, largest approved tyre size for L322 is definitely 20 not 22.
