If it checks out on inspection could be good but CAT C is pretty serious damage.

I had a CAT C car once (a Porsche 911) that was a real bargain on the face of it - when I insured it I had to pay a premium of over 400 quid to get insurance, and when I came to sell it I virtually had to give it away. If you are thinking of running it into the ground chawks then get a quote on the insurance - your current company my refuse - then you are in trouble. Don't think that you don't have to disclose it either - all insurance companies check nowerdays....

I wouldn't go anywhere near another one, i learnt my lesson the hard way. Dealers won't touch them either.

My mate had an XJR jag that was about 12 years old and someone ran into the back of him and did minor damage. It was written off as the bumper was about a grand and the car was only worth about 4 but it was immaculate. My mate bought it off the insurance company for 600 quid and it was CAT D - now that's the way to do it.....

Sounds like it's not worth the hassle then. I did spot Dirty Harrys V8 and it does look the part - identical to the one I had before but mine had black sidebars. Very nice indeed - it's got me thinking Thumbs Up

You could pick this up for next to nothing. Why not make him a really silly offer?

As said already, you have to keep it forever though as you will never sell it. Most people run for the hills when they hear HPI and Cat "anything".

If he gets a bid at £6500 I'll eat my hat! 2006 4.2 SC
