So...set off for work this morning at my usual time of 5:45am, long drive ahead but hey-ho everythings looking rosy with the FF. Already had one heart attack when the 3degree Outside Temperature BONG went off, now down to minus 1 degree so shouldn't hear that again.

Raining slightly as I get on the A66 heading west, wipers working slowly away...then get stuck behind a slow wagon, pootling along at the obligatory 40mph. Just great... a slow lorry chucking up spray and crud on my windscreen, washers working overtime this morning to clear the screen!!

Well, after 10 mins stuck behind this lorry, I'd had enough. Finally got to a shortish straight on the road where, if I'm lucky and I boot it, I can maybe get past.

Engage Sport Mode...drop a gear...the road ahead looks clear..ish... Right, BOOT IT!!

The revs go up, the girl surges forward, just about to zip past the lorry when.....

BONG!!

says I...slam on the brakes and drop back behind the lorry, heart in mouth and trousers rapidly filling!!

I daren't look at the message centre...what soul destroying, wallet sapping error message is it showing?

I finally look down, my mouth dry with dread... the message reads...


LOW SCREEN WASH

WTF!!!!!!!!!


I've just a brick ...cos I'm low on screen wash??? And you pick that very moment to let me know??? With a fe ing BONG??

Obviously when I put my foot to the floor, the water in the bottle must have sloshed a bit and activated the sensor...talk about timing, tho'

Called in to the first garage I passed and, after a toilet break (for obvious reasons), bought a £4.99 bottle of screen wash and topped the FF up.

Now, I'm all for safety and warnings...but that was one BONG too many!!

I hate those bongs!!

Thanks.... Just had a good laugh at this... made such a bad day I have had that much better.... knowing you have to get on the road at silly o clock....go out in the freezing cold and put up with slow coaches etc..
