United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Zermatt Silver

I have a load cover. It has only annoyed me when going on holiday when I've too much stuff to fit in the boot.

I dont like taking it out as then things (kids £500 pushchair - they are damm expensive!) are visible when away....(I have privacy glass - its not that hard to see through)

Why do roll out load covers not exist as an option??

I wonder how hard it would be to make a roll out load cover! Given my limited DIY skills, this will no doubt be an interesting way to while away some time, but ultimatley an abject failure! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

I guess there are a lot of OCD personalities driving FFRRs. I would say OCD with a masochistic trait considering the propensity of FFRRs to throw up something that bugs the owner to no end.

I was driving it yesterday and I realized that I hadn't had any warning lights on the dash for at least 3 days (since my second flat in a year had been fixed). I was so used to driving around with at least one warning light or boing on the message center that the lack of them suddenly hit me. Not that I have any sign of OCD, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo way Twisted Evil

Needless to say, I'd not be happy to drive without a parcel shelf, even if I had a nice hook for the hat Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I am ambivalent on this, although I like the clean lines and security the load cover creates when the tailgates are shut, it can get in the way of things.

At present it is living on top of a cupboard wrapped in polythene, and has been there all summer, can't say I miss it. .

I like it. I think it keep things 'neater' in the back.

When I bought mine (JLR dealer, second hand), they assured me at had a load space cover. When I went to pick up the car, it didn't. As I had just flown in from FAR out of town, and wasn't going to accept an incomplete car, the dealer offered to go 'halfs' on a new one. No. When we started to discuss travel expenses and a car 'not as advertised', a quick call to Mrs. Previous Owner, located the parcel shelf in her garage. 30 minutes later all was smiles and everything sorted. Thumbs Up

my solution

i got my car without one, and after finding that a grubby 2ndhand one is about £150 i thought twice. i have since fitted an upright spare wheel (i have lpg tank) just like a classic setup. its a spacesaver from a disco 3 it goes in snug on the left with a bolt anchored to the side support. and an elasticated cover, that hides the tools stored in the wheel well. i keep a blanket for hiding things. my old p38 one was nearly always in the flicked forward position, ie up againstt eh rear of the back seats. So, i guess i was only looking at getting a FF one to 'complete' the car. its probably sitting in a previous owners garage being nibbled by a rat. if you do fit the spacesaver, you need a set of 5 steel nuts to fit it. (cheap)[/img]

Regardless of the looks surely the main reason for the presence of a load cover is to ensure any loose object in the boot stays there in the event of a collision? 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11

That's why I use a half guard and no cover. Best of both worlds Smile

ANY ONE driving without a parcel shelf should fit a dog guard, at the very least the Vogue specs roll out one.

In case of an accident the parcel shelf will (partly) retain most of the stuff you guys like to have in the boot (you know, air compressor, tools, things you do not really want in the back of you head or your passengers'...)

I would not want a Rangie without one.

EDIT: I just noticed this post - talking about accident- is my 666th...
