lazy way to jack up?

last year my rear tyres needed changing.
took it to a tyre place.
the chap did something in which he pressed the hazard lights , put the tail gate down and with a push or two with the jack just started to lift the FF.
to this the FF automatically lifted that strut to make life easier..
i cannot replicate that ....
any ideas please? 2011 4.4 TdV8 Nara Bronze

His name wasn't Paul Daniels was it? Rolling Eyes sorry, couldn't resist.

If this is a genuine easy way to gain access to remove a wheel I for one am very interested indeed. Currently I use a high lift jack and it really does need to be HIGH LIFT. Leading me to change the wheel over as quickly as possible as the car really does look precarious. 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Baltic Blue MY11

Correct procedure is to put the RR into offroad height and then open tailgate to lock in place. At this setting the wheels will not droop when jacked up. Thumbs Up

Edit - leave a door open, not the tailgate - that's for the P38.

Im afraid only citroen have the market cornered for ease of changing a wheel, the FF still requires some jacking Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
