I let my driver's door open a bit too fast after parking yesterday and I heard a very loud plastic-sounding pop when the door reached its stop position. Can't see any visible damage. All electrics, window and mirror still work ok and the door still opens, closes and locks fine. Check you havent popped the door stay out or snapped it, if that ok youi may have escaped serious damage.  There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Yep, as per nothernMJ , I got a loud popping noise on my door as it reached its maximum open extent and on checking , found it to be the star headed bolt that holds the door stay to the bodywork. I opened the door to its max, then moved it backward and forward slowly and could see the stay mount moving beneath the bolt. Tightened bolt up (obviously had worked loose slightly over the years) and cured problem. Steve

Checked door stop today and it seems fine. Star-headed bolt on door stop mount seems tight although I don't have a tool to tighten it (where do you get those?) and there's no movement when I move the door in and out. Ah , if it's not the door strap, I'm not sure , although you could check the outside lower part of the door (with the plastic panel on it) isn't catching the front lower wing section (plastic panel beneath the side grilles), as that may also create a plastic type noise. I got my socket set from a chain of shops called 'Clas Ohlson' (Swedish in origin) , don't know if you have them in Germany (can't find a website for 'de'). These are the ones I bought...
