Mine's going

Sad to say but I have to get rid of mine i'm utterly devastated about it but in 10 months it's far exceeded the extra costs I had envisaged. I don't want to see it go at all, I'm just slowly realising there's more to life than spending money on fuel, repairs and being targeted by people who can't afford one.

Sad state when this country has made it as difficult as possible to run a large vehicle. I wouldn't say it's unaffordable to run it, it's just I'm fed up of paying it!

I will have to spend less time on here as I will kill me viewing everyone's full fats Sad

Good luck everyone and thanks for having me Thumbs Up

Sad news.

Come back soon, because as we all know, once you've had a Range Rover, it's hard not to have another. nothing else feels the same.

It hasn't gone yet but its just the following that concerns me and is deciding for me ;
Rising diesel cost
Vehicle excise duty current and potential rising cost
Repair costs (all be it main dealer)
Fear of repair costs i.e reliability paranoia
Offered 17k from Honda, Lexus, Mazda, Audi, Hyundai so 7k loss already.
Targeted by jealous members of the public not fortunate enough or open minded about how people obtain them.
Won't have a warranty (if its worth it from what I can tell little is covered)

After looking around nothing at all appeals to me. German cars are recommended but I've had one and don't want another. I can have the same outgoing on finance (£339) and have 5 years service for free , less fuel cost, less reliability issues, less trips to the pump, less money on repairs. One hang up. It's not a Range Rover. Big Cry

So undecided as once its gone its gone and this is the car I've wanted since I was 12 (yeah yeah different model) but who grows up with a Kia on their bedroom wall!

Mine had to go due to a new employers car scheme only allowing you to have cars less than 5 years old. The fact that the wife did not want to have it due to the size was the final nail... Do I miss it? In a word yes. But the new Audi A5 convertible I replaced it with (had to go as far away from a FFRR as possible) has been a blast these last few months Thumbs Up

Also having a £105 tax disc and the ability to do 55mpg isn't too shabby either.

That said I went on an Experience day last Friday in the new L405 and that is a deeply impressive vehicle, maybe after someone has take the initial hit on the depreciation I will get one of those (in at least 3 years), until then I will concentrate on not burning the top of my head in the sunshine.

I also bought an Audi Q3 for my wife at the same time so we have something with (some) 4x4 ability, at least good enough for snowy roads. Would have bought her an Evoque if Landrover were more amenable to doing a deal... Sadly their attitude cost them and made me the new best friend of the local Audi DP Laughing

Have been thinking of selling mine for a while now, the lure or a audi all road is quite strong, especially when at the unvail of the RRS last week at my local LR dealer where i was always on first name terms none of the sales men seamed to want to say hello. Maybe they think a scruffyish joiner who drives a 3yr 8mth old VSE cant afford a replacement car of whatever age. Must say though the men from the skipton off road place were very pleasant and the food laid on was excellent.

Somewhat irritatingly they have never asked me either. I suppose they could check the registration number in concur but I doubt that they do Censored

The A5 cab is very nice. But it's not a FFRR Big Cry

Sorry to hear that. I've just given mine the first full tank since owning her! Ouch that hurt

Did you even get to the garage I said about? I'm sure he would reduce the repair bills!

I had the A4 estate before this and found it quite small. Limited space in the rear seats and boot! So much so the baby seat only fitted when the front chair was pulled right forward. 2009 TDV8 Vogue SE - Bonatti Grey

Well yesterday was spent visiting various car dealers and whilst some deals where attractive nothing came close to the Range. The tech in the Honda crv I looked at was incredible but 32k really!!!
Other similar brands also decent but would mean putting 7k on my finance which would reduce running costs but would inflate my payments. After sleeping on it I'm keeping it and have vowed to sack main dealers off and go to the garage you recommended (but slipped my mind new baby to blame ahem).

I think this car is like an attractive (but shall we say loose) woman you fall in love with, you know she's wrong and will eventually screw up but you're in love with the idea of her so stick by her until she does then you drop kick her to the kerb!

Heart says get rid but heart says keep and write this months £1700 off as just a bad month.

So Mark can you pm me the address of that garage as I'm going to arrange for them to look over the car and advise if anything needs doing. It also needs a service. Are you in warranty or out?

I brought mine private so no such thing with mine! It had a good check over before I brought it though by a man who knows his stuff.

The garage was mentioned on here the other week actually. It's Ian Barclays 4x4. In New Ferry.

You'll just have to use her car a few times a week to go to work in. That's what I keep saying but always get into mine Rolling Eyes 2009 TDV8 Vogue SE - Bonatti Grey

Stop using the main dealer !! No wonder your seeing huge bills in terms of repairs

If it helps you decide I have just used Ian Barclay the other week to do my gearbox service Thumbs Up

I made a thread on it http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic19950.html just as a point of reference but I Listed all the contact details for the garage in it for another forum member. I drive past the garage every day & every day this guy has lots of rangies lined up outside for work etc so go and make yourself a new friend and keep the ff

Hi Mustard thanks for that, I will be using that garage now, screeeewww the dealers that look at me with terror when I ask them if they are called offroad vehicles because they are always in the garage!

Ha ha Mark we did try a period of me using her car but I ended up in mine everyday. I've got the car so why not enjoy it!

Just had the lower suspension strut done and thinking thats the creaking that I have currently. Strange it goes away when I turn my music up.
