What's it worth ?

Hi,

Just saw this and wondered what people thought it's worth (it's done 127,000) ?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151079657272?ssP...1423.l2649

Spoke to the seller and he's saying it's 1 owner, owned by the MD of the company with servicing by the company garage every year, stamps in the book. Gearbox has been replaced (he's finding paperwork) as have the brakes/discs etc.

It's also Autobiography which isn't mentioned in the ad.

Cheers

Tony

Its "emaculate" Very Happy

Looks like a good 'un, reckon £7K would buy it Whistle (he says disappointedly being the owner of an '02 with higher miles, although not looking to sell Laughing ) .

I would prefer it at that price rather than risking an auction buy. Spin the wheel....

However adverts without mileage quoted Censored Twisted Evil

£6500-£7000 private IMHO

All good information from you, Thanks.

Now to look at the 'What to look out for' posts so I can read up before taking a look.

Don't suppose their's any specialists up that way that knows what to look out for is there Wink ?

Cheers

2004 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue

Well I managed to get to see the car this morning after getting some time out of work.

Very nice for it's age and everything I tried worked, except the following things slightly concern me, just wondering how much I should be concerned:

1. Aircon wasn't cold/cool, it was fairly warm (he's said that they will sort that but wondering if they will just re-gas and not check there's a leak or something)
2. Warning for front near side sidelight (doesn't work)
3. Warning for Rear near side foglight (doesn't work)
4. Discs have fair bit of lip (not massive) and bit of scoring (advert said brakes had been done so now asked exactly what)
5. Noticed oil on bottom of transmission but none on the ground (changed into and out of drive/reverse etc well with no clunks etc)
6. Front Diff is original so hasn't had the recall work carried out (now not free by Land Rover apparently)
7. Central locking didn't work by key fob but did with button inside the car, didn't get to try other key fob.
8. Rear washer didn't work
9. Dash Pixels going

Any advice would be welcome.

Cheers

Tony

Easy to answer this one.

The list you quote adds up to a complete lack of maintenance of any kind - half of them are easy fixes - why haven't they bothered to sort them . . .

If they couldn't do those I certainly wouldn't have expected the important things, like oil & filters, to have been changed either. Regardless of what the stamps in the book say.

Put it down to experience and find a good - there's lots of cars to choose from -

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Chalk it up to experience, there are a load of full fats out there for the money you're looking to spend. Time spent now will save you grief later down the line.

As lovely as it is to get into a range rover, the difference between a good one and a bad one could well put you off for ever, try and buy from someone who knows the cars if you can.

All the best in your search Thumbs Up

Thanks everyone.

And if there's anyone on here looking to sell give me a shout.

For the right car I'm willing to spend a bit extra.

Cheers Tony

I stopped reading at the diff recall work. Land Rover was going to fix a serious problem for free and the former owner(s) couldn't be bothered. If they didn't do the free fixes, why would one think they did any of the maintenance that cost $$. RUN. AWAY. FAST.

Sounds like you had a lucky escape. Like buses, there'll be another along in a few minutes.
