IID Tool Fault Codes

I have an issue with, what I think, maybe the torque converter on my 2003 4.4 V8 and I'm trying to find out what the following fault codes mean as these were all recorded after a "Trans Failsafe Mode" warning on start up the other day.

Transmission
Fault 3C - Gear Switch General Fault

Instrument Pack
Fault 8D - Transmission Interface Bus Fault

Engine
462 - Purge Valve Output Drive Fault

I've searched the forum and Google for a list of non "P" codes produced by the IID Tool which explains these and other faults but can't find anything so if anyone knows then please chip in. Thumbs Up

I know someone will ask why I think I have a TC fault so here's what's happening:

1. On starting from cold, until a few days ago after clearing the above faults, I would get the "Trans Failsafe Mode" on the dash either on initial start or after selecting reverse.
2. When selecting reverse it will sometimes give a jolt as it goes into reverse, followed by the Trans Failsafe.
3. When cruising I get a humming/vibration which can be felt through the centre console and is louder if put the engine under stress, like going up hill without it changing down. This sounds like a loose piece of heatshield vibrating under the car.
4. The above vibration seems to stop when I get to 56 mph.
5. The gearbox oil & filter were changed about 6 months ago, just the 6 lts in the sump not a full flush, and there were not traces of anything metalic on the magnets in the sump, just normal grey oily stuff and not much of that.

I don't think this is the only issue I have at the moment as I'm sure there's a wheel bearing, propshaft UJ/bearing or driveshaft CV away as well but it's narrowing it all down when you're on an island with the nearest LR dealer or Indi at the other end of a 3 hour ferry ride & 75 mile drive. So any pointers are most welcome. Mr. Green

Not really as the first one lists P1234 type codes and the second is the same only the codes start with different letters.
I can't see anything on either site which matches what the IID Tool is giving me and can't find any documentation which gives a clue about how to convert the IID Tool code output in the corresponding P1234 style. Big Cry

Unless I'm missing something simple?

Email IID folks they'll tell you (although tend to have weekends off) .

For anybody getting this fault on their IID tool.I recently replaced the Gearbox XYZ Inhibitor switch and problem solved.

Sorry to revive an old thread but better to close it with an answer to the problem methinks
