Windows8

Is it just me or is Windows 8 completely NUTS!

W7 is a sensible workplace where you can work with multiple windows and easily get to the nuts & bolts when necessary.

Having used my Sons W8 a few times I can only say I hate its fullscreen no minimise one at a time "Not Windows" system.

My poor other son has a non touch screen W8 Laptop so how he copes I will never know!!!

LONG LIVE W7...... Censored

Got to agree with you there...

I bought a new desktop with W8, couldn't get on with it at all, I ended up giving it to my 13 year old (who gets on with it no problem Whistle ) and going back to W7.

I was thinking must be an age thing Big Cry

Yep you would not wipe your a*se with it.

My Mum bought an HP Laptop with W8 and gave it away to my youngest after two weeks because she simply could not use it after being a master of very other Windows operating System since launch....

And I had to search High & Low to find a decent NEW HP Windows7 Laptop to replace the W-8h*te

They forgot that its the 45+'s that have all the money. Schoolboy error that will finish Microsoft if they do not launch W7+ pretty soon....

Eh? You can use Windows 8 just like 7 but switching to the "Desktop" view.

The "Metro" apps are one-at-a-time but don't use them!

Yep, truly dreadful is 8. But there are plenty of downgrade options available on most new laptops, just that M$ don't publicise it a lot.

Thing is, a phone interface doesn't work on a PC and a PC interface (which crucially has a keyboard) doesn't work so well on a phone. crApple (for all their other failings) have figured this out with IOS.

Mind you, it was to be expected if you look at history.

Switching to the "Desktop" view makes it look like a W7 Desktop but it certainly does not work like one!

No Start Icon with Menu Tree in left corner, No right click for Dialogue Boxes on Desktop, No easy way to locate programs without a Desktop Icon, it goes on.....

Yes. You can use downgrade rights, and install windows 7 if you want. But won't necessarily get the world's best experience if that hardware is not fully supported in Win 7. Graham
