DMRR, what evidence do you have that the handbook is wrong on this?

Sustained driving on the limiter across Germany on the way to Poland. No mode change indication occurred and the white lines didn't move lower to the wheels.

And you've done the same on the 4.2SC and 5.0SC, and were these also with your funny suspension settings or standard?

DMRR, i can only think that because you have lowered yours 'manually' then the ranges ecu cant lower it any more when you do go above 100 mph..

I will ignore your arrogance. My information is based on actual experience. So, in my case, it doesn't lower, and never has.

So - you refuse to accept what the manufacturer tells you in black and white, you have never actually been able to confirm if it happens or not, you decide you know how to set your car up better than Land Rover's chassis engineers do, and I'm arrogant?

Edit - Given that owner's manuals aren't very technically involved and it is particularly difficult to find hard facts about Land Rover spec changes and features, it would be interesting to find out more about how the suspension ECU works - perhaps someone like SteveMFr can offer input.

I didn't think your post was arrogant Tommel.

@DMRR - this post with the FFS and Rolling Eyes really set the tone of the thread. Was it really necessary to be so condescending, especially when it turns out you're wrong?

FFS people - the limit is due to the tyre/weight combo. Oddly they don't tend to make truck tyres rated over 120/130mph .... Rolling Eyes

BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Cannot be bothered with this any more.

The handbook shows pictures of the screen. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN. None of my vehicles apart from my 4.4 N/A have lowered and you can feel that happen. Sorry to the other person that thought you could tell by pulling up, but 100-0 will result in more than a slight a suspension change!

I am obviously wrong and THICK according to Trommel and do not understand how my vehicles works. Land Rover Addict

Not sure anyone is calling anyone thick (although arrogant was thrown around).

If you're talking about the Chassis View/4x4 info screen, I can't find mention in any owner's manual I've looked in of it specifically displaying High Speed Height/High Speed Suspension Height on the Chassis View screen, and I have never seen it myself - the only three suspension height display settings are Off Road, Standard and Access.

I don't have access to a 2006 car to test it out, but this post seems to corroborate what was said on page 2 of this thread by TheAllSeeingPie: http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/6-range-r...post186378

what was the reason behind increasing chassis lowering speed from 70-80 to 100mph?
once reached the highway level, can you lock it to keep same low ride at let`s say continuous 70mph?

Seems an odd argument this as its a fact that the car lowers 20mm post 100mph as clearly stated in the Land Rover Owners Manual. There is no driver indication of this it just does it for safety reasons.

Those looking at a 4x4 screen at chest level in the centre of the car at 100mph+ need to think again and trust the car is doing as manufactured.
