Fiat Coupe - a fantastic little car! Often derided, but only by those who have never driven one... I miss mine very much - 3rd gear acceleration was immense!

Bizarrely there are a couple of ex Fiat Coupe owners on here....and we had a moderator called Stan over at www.fccuk.org/forum 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

True but you need it to be for as long as possible to get the kind of temps needed to burn some carbon build up off in a diesel engine.

in a petrol its very easy. I could often get a red hot turbo in my coop before i upgraded the turbo but at that point you get sh@ performance as well and det so not so good...

Then its tuned wrong, too lean or too retarded. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Unfortunately it was a little of both but not massively so but more the engine arrangement and standard turbo being a POS. the gt28rs ran base boost almost its entire life with me and never got anything near that or close as underbonnet temps were heavily reduced Smile

LPG did burn hotter though which also didn't help... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Glad to hear it was nothing serious Jason.

We did push the car occasionally but it was more to blast the cobwebs more then anything and it certainly wasn't done regularly. Don't think we ever got it quite that high on the circuit we used either Razz

It did do a fair bit of towing when we had it though, some fairly heavy loads but they tended to be fairly gentle acceleration and sitting on the motorway with the cruise control.

Amazing what an Italian tune up can do for a car though!

What mileage have you got it up to now? Our new one is due it's first service in a couple of months. It'll be done with about 2000 miles on it Laughing

Yes the car is fine again now. just a sticky W/G.
I have covered 4k since having it so not that bad its just hit 28k.
I've put some cooper LTZ tyres on for the winter and they are really good in the snow.

It's a great car, Thanks Thumbs Up 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

Of course you can always do this at a much lower speed by using that clever little device LR fitted to your centre console....

Yep, you guessed it, the low range option! Gets the revs RIGHT up and at much safer speeds Whistle Land Rover Addict

What is the most common reason for a failed or blown TDV8 Turbo that needs replacement?
