In the winter season, compounded with current weather conditions, I'd expect FFRR prices to be quite firm. However, are prices actually inflated rather than static at present?

Would you expect to see prices start to reduce towards March time as the new registrations come out and the winter panic for 4x4s start to decrease?

Reason for asking is that I seem to remember a lot more 07/08 TDV8 cars in the 17-20k bracket back in October than there are at the moment.

Supply and demand, innit

I was/am looking for a Defender/90 toy at the moment, as per my Wanted post, and sadly they are going for silly money just now. I guess bidding on a 4x4 of any description on Snowmageddon Day was never really going to work! The one I wanted, well, LRO price it at £940; it does have LPG and a few mods, BUT the rear x-member is shot, along with the back end of the chassis leg on one side, the bulkhead has a hole in it and the door bottoms have gone. That all said, the seller was very genuine & honest and a nice guy. A week ago (ie, before the snow arrived although after it was forecast) he told me that he wanted to let the auction run but that he would be happy if the truck made £1000 or so. As the price climbed, I set myself a limit of £1600 - and it sold last night for over £2k, and apparently (I was in touch with the seller) to a trader! It has been off the road for 4 years, and the seller paid less for it SIX YEARS ago than he sold it for, with the problems, last night!

So I may have to wait a bit to buy myself a toy

Days like today there will be a few that say to themselves its time i got a 4x4, and as usual they hold there price. Ive noticed on autotrader over the last month that there are less 'bargain' priced ffrr out there and are generally asking higher prices.

If it makes you feel better, £2000 for a D90 is an unheard of deal here in Canada. Defenders are very rare and prices often exceed ffrr money. Happy hunting.

If you are buying wait for Spring/Summer.

Its hard to wait when you know what you want haha, but its the sensible thing to do, be able to get more for my money!
