I fear mention of me having a Range Rover may have made me a social pariah as far as the Defender crowd are concerned, probably just think I am some sort of toff who wants a 'Jeep type thing' to play with at weekends.

Not like the welcome we give people here. We really ARE a nice bunch on this forum, we're the least snobby of them all I reckon!

I do find "Land Rover" owners snub "Range Rover" owners. When in reality they all roll out of the same factory and all have the green oval. If anything it should be the other way round.

I've found Disco owners are the worst for LR snobbery though.

I don't think you'll find there is the usual level of snobbery around on my sites

Half the problem is self-stereotyping, and fearing that you won't be welcomed.

We sponsor all 5 of the forum's and contribute to a greater or lesser degree on all of them, and it is quite interesting how each forum has a different feel to it (all very positive, but all slightly different).

I went on there to say hello to you, but a few other people had joined sice, therefore it would have been out of sync, so............. "welcome to defender2.net"!

Having a RR and a Defender makes perfect sense to me.

I have both.

And a 1960's Series 2a.

I bought it in November 2009. It had a complete (and expensive) refurb in 2008 by the previous owner.

When I saw it for sale I got up there quick!
I'd wanted a Camel Defender for quite some time.
