It's got a plastic cover on, but I want to get it fixed if possible

It's crazy that the landrover fix is just to put a plastic bag over it! I lost my Bluetooth module with the same problem. I never tracked down the source of the leak. Even wondered if it was condensation drips as there must be a bit of heat in there with all the kit, the weather turns cold, etc etc. I wonder if vents in the access hatch would help?? There's an idea....... Previously..

It's more than condensation, there was bad rain last night and plenty of water on the pastic today, sometimes I think I'd be better with a stand alone head unit.

DO not under any circumstances just stick a plastic bag over the amp and forget about it.

You must fix it or you'll end up like me with a rust spot on the rear near side body panel which is directly opposite the amp.

Next dry day that comes along will be spent trying to fix it once and for all... although I've tried in the past with no luck.

I read water gets in via holes where the rear bumper is bolted on?

Check the boot seal first, take it off and look for wear holes.

It's pulls off and pushes on, so won't take long to rule out.

funny you should mention rust on the body panel, I have that in exactly the same place, just back from the door, above the bumper. However, the LHS of my boot is dry as a bone, the water does come in, but on the RHS, and no rust on that panel ?

I had the same problem mate, I stripped it all out and got six inch sticky lead flashing and gutter seal and shaped it around the void above the electronics. Havn't got any pics sorry. if you pm your number to me i may be able to explain more clearly. So far touch wood or cloth its been ok.  gone fishin'

It is probably caused by blocked drain holes, most likely the sunroof. There is oodles of comment here and some pictures, I think the solution was found to be a long rotating wire into the sunroof drain hole or stg. Search should find it.

If you feel like a drive further north I'll sort it for you. Investigated my own thoroughly, not even a drip now.

For what it costs replace the boot seal with a new one to be absolutely sure. Fixed 2 different RR's when I have had this problem in the past. I hate water in cars !!
