Windscreen - top seal coming loose

Well, had a new noise last night and this morning i noticed that the top windscreen seal had popped out about 6cms. Put it back and drove to work to discover it had popped out again. Same on my return this evening. It appears to be about 5mm to short to fit back under the roofline retainer bit....

Is it ok to silicon it back or is it kaput????

If the windscreen's been replaced then it's possible the fitter allowed some of the glass sealant/adhesive to stray out of the correct area.

The top seal has a shaped back to it where it's supposed to hug the edge of the glass.

If any sealant/adhesive has strayed then the seal may not have been replaced properly, allowing it to come away.

I've had this happen to a couple of beemers and my last range rover.

Black setting silicone should be enough to hold it in place.

Mike
