I am looking to get the BMW OEM digital tuner, from a 2005 X5, but understand the aerial connections may be different.

Has anyone on here swapped for the BMW hybrid / digital tuner, and knows what happens with the aerials ?

Currently the original analogue TV tuner has a couple of small coax type connectors..........

Kind of same here.

I thought that a simple digital conversion box was all that was required, available from a decent car audio outlet. I also understand it's a relatively straightforward plug and play type fitment.

done it, straight swap and now they have upped the power i get a cranking pic on the factory aerial, also no coding is required,just swap them over and a quick re tune and away you go.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I can confirm it's a straight swap As long as your car is a pre-touch screen model and you use the correct iBus version of the BMW Hybrid Digital TV Tuner Both connectors and the aerials are exactly the same - It's all BMW wiring

I got a brand new one with tv in motion module for £400 Ajay knows his stuff helped me right out

the hard part is finding one at a good price..just a little pointer you will not get digital radio, i found this out and was a bit disappointing but then again i only paid £150 for my unit. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I've just bought one this evening off eBay..

They have been going for 399, there is one on there for 349.

I got one for 250, it's the cheapest I've seen.

you will lose that as that's a setting in the tv tuner, unless you are using the lead... V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
