bad luck matt, it is fairly common and you need a water shedder and probably a new unit.

Thanks again scarey. So where exactly is the moisture coming from? And does the water shedder protect the entire area? I had thought maybe the dealer had been less than careful when washing or shampooing but I guess not. Is it from underneath or around the light housing or something? |

Ok so update. Navigation unit is ruined as expected. The garage think they have found a couple of issues where the water came from. Upon research it often happens to vehicles with sun roofs and we had a slightly perished boot seal which is being replaced. Something for others to check with the same issue |

When I had my TD6 and noticed the rear washer was not operating correctly, it was sending washer water down the inside of the rear glass, this then collected in the trim, and no doubt made its way down into the inside of the car, luckily I caught this very early and no damage was done, but this is another way water can get into the car. I would also consider whether part of the problem could be condensation.

I'm getting a bit jumpy over these rear water ingress problems as there doesn't seem to be a single cause.
