England 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Luxor
L405 parking brake seized on.

Parked up, parking. Brake on. Went to release it, hit a fault message. It has seized on the offside. It refuses to move. This is in Aldi car park. Censored
Fortunately, just over the road from my usual indy. He, with difficulty, removed the motor, it had stripped the
splines in the caliper.. managed to unwind the brake mechanism. All without overstaying my Aldi parking allowance.
So I'm mobile again. Minus a parking brake. Expensive repair ahead, new caliper and motor. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.
1960 Series 2 88 inch diesel.
1955 Series 1 86 inch petrol.

Scotland 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Luxor

The motors are not too expensive and can be had from the auction site since they're fitted to a range of cars, not just RR.

They're an easy swap.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, it's stripped the spine in the caliper too. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

OEM calipers inc motors aren't as expensive as you think (unless you fit genuine parts Shocked)

Depending where you look, it's usually cheaper to buy then complete than individually Thumbs Up

This is the second car we have with an electronic handbrake, and because this is automatic, I tend to leave it in park and
rarely use it for that very worry.
We have a manual car with an electronic handbrake that failed, so always leave that in gear when parked up.
Sometimes safety features shouldn't rely on electronics soley.

I totally agree. Twin cables much more reliable and safer. Much cheaper to repair too. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.
