The aftermarket Chinese cameras should not be confused with the terrible quality and overly-complex factory-fitted cameras by Land Rover.
The aftermarket ones are pretty decent actually. I fitted them on my L322 with an Android screen.
Some key pointers:
1. It is a major install. Done properly, you need to remove the door cards, drill the mirrors, and run cables through the existing looms. You also need to tap into the indicator feed from the door modules in each door. The rear camera requires a strip down of the boot lid, rear quarter, and B and C pillars. The front camera requires a cable feeding through the firewall grommet to the front of the car
2. The systems need proper calibration. The mat is quite expensive and it takes a while to calibrate properly, in a flat open space
3. To be of benefit, the Android head unit MUST be pre-fitted with the 360 camera aftermarket circuit board. If it is not, you need a separate control box which plugs into the 'Video In' feed, and becuase it's simply a video feed, you lose all interactive control
4. The Android head unit now fitted is old tech and potentially over-priced. The superceded system is vastly improved, offers a bigger screen, is more responsive and has higher resolution
Was it worth the 360 cameras for the time and effort installing them? No, not for me. The only time they're useful is showing the trailer trajectory when reversing. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
