Radio audio stopped and then worked later!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday my radio was acting up in my '09 L322 Autobiography.

I ran an errand in the morning and it worked fine both ways. An hour later I went to run another errand and there was no audio from the radio. I check all of the input options and all were silent. The head unit display looked and behaved normal, just no audio. I tried turning the ignition off and then back no but no joy.

Ran that errand without any radio.

A few hours later I ran another errand and the radio was again silent on the way to the errand but then worked fine on the way home.

Any ideas why it would not work and then just come back fine?

At home the car is parked in my shop that's heated to 55 F (13 C) and it was a cold day (about 35 F/ 2 C).

Any ideas where to start looking?

Thanks in advance!

Read the codes. Could be short on the speakers or an issue with the amplifier (my bet). 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue

Thanks! Good idea. I'll try to pull the codes this week.
