Did I hear the Tory's are going to resurface all UK roads with the HS2 saving? If so I will get the 23"s out of storage! Laughing

Generally they 'recommend' anything they will increase their commission on, in this case, upsell of wheels. I've driven a few L460's, the 22" is the best balance of ride & handling IMO - just make sure whatever size you choose, the car is 'told' what you have fitted. There are different suspension & steering tunes for each wheel size / tyre man. combination, if they are factory fit, it'll be tuned correctly, very few dealers will change the CCF unless the wheels are changed as part of the PDI rather than after.

Interesting information, thanks. Was this also the case on the L405s?

Have had the 23” since inception .. at first I wasn’t sure. However I really happy with them. One man’s meat is….

I drive a lot in France which is a pleasure . As for our cruddy roads, that’s why I bought a rangerover in the first place so it can take the lumps and bumps without breaking. I treat the lane before our house as a little bit off off roading and I doubt if 21 or 23 makes any difference whatsoever. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

To a lesser extent, yes. The tuning isn't as noticeable, but its there - drive one with 22" wheels but with a 20" tune and then correct it, you'll notice the difference after a mile or so.

I’m pretty sure the 23s have the same sidewall depth as 22s on the L405 and the 22s are comparable to the L405 21s. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I can assure you, it makes quite a difference.

I'm so pleased for you that you're really happy with them.

What I am disputing however is your comment about there being no difference between 21" and 23" when there is a massive difference in sidewall height and therefore ride comfort.

That is not an opinion, it is a fact.

It’s not just ride comfort, it makes a huge difference to turn in too. On the one hand you gain in comfort on the other you lose in handling and aesthetics. I find the L460 ride comfort to be excellent on 23s. I would not want to make the turn in any more vague with higher sidewalls.

Yes of course, it's a trade off and down to personal preference.

I'm happy to lose some handling and gain ride comfort as its not my main vehicle but understand others would not want to.

They do suit the car - and that's a good looking colour for them.
Better? maybe... I do find larger rims tend to make the brake discs look smaller, especially on the rear, and leave too much free space, giving the 'pram wheel' look. Those wheels with that amount of sidewall is about on the limit of what looks aesthetically right IMO, any less and I'd be expecting to see 'Silver Cross' on the wheel centres.

Same here - 22" with some 20" ready to go on for the winter, just to save the 22" rims from bumping up and down kerbs getting around abandoned vehicles due to 'weather'...
