poor Bodsy was here today and it was kissing it down.
he found my rear diff, the electronic one, was full of metal. the front one fine but dirty. the gearbox, although the filter sump had been changed, was dirty.
so the last place 30k miles ago didn't do as expected and who knows the cost of replacing an eDiff?

the cost of a replacement diff and the rusty sills are going to push repairs up to the vehicle value

Just another +1 to highly recommend Bodsy. He came and did a Megaflush on the 8spd box on my 4.4 TDV8 yesterday. The job was immaculate as everyone has now come to expect: efficient, no fuss and spotless. He was happy to chat about the truck, gave me some good advice and is clearly a true enthusiast rather than just in it to make a living. It was a pleasure to have him over and I’d happily have him back and I recommend his services to anyone on here.

Before anyone goes down the ‘he doesn’t change the filter Road’, don’t bother. I made the decision to get Bodsy over with my eyes wide open and I’m happy that the potential downsides of a Megaflush are minimal and they are a manageable risk. I’d suggest that if your box is all gunked up and you’re worried about a megaflush causing problems then your box is already fubar. I’ll change the filter and top up the oil in about 5000 miles or so when I get round to it for completeness.

I did a 30 mile run once he finished and the box was definitely smoother. I’ll be doing a few thousand miles in the next month or so and am expecting the car to be a true joy to drive throughout once the box has fully adapted to the fresh oil.

Thanks Bodsy! 👍 Andy

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Siberian Silver

When I lived in Australia, the Ford Falcons and Holden UTE's (Pickups) were fitted with the 6 speed and later the 8 speed ZF gearboxes. A chap who regularly serviced them said he never changed the filter because there there was no real need.

Ian came to my house yesterday and changed the gearbox oil, axles and diffs.

His service is exemplary! From early comms, to doing the work and taking the time to chat about the wider subject.

Highly recommended.

***Bodsy Feedback***
Ian performed the full flush on the FFRR.
All work carried out with a smile, to a very high standard, and with zero mess.
He even diagnosed a small hiccup with the FBH. At no charge too…

RR feels a 110%. Although diff’ and g’box fluids were not too bad at all - they are now as good, if not better, than factory fresh…

Bodsy’s work is excellent. And not limited to just flushes - He also does ECU upgrades and diagnostic work.

***Disclaimer: I am not linked to Ian’s business in any way. This is my feedback on the excellent service received *** Current: L322 2011 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE, MB GLB AMG35, Renault Clio R200 Cup

Wish I'd known he was in Oxfordshire - I tried to get hold of him to do my gearbox last spring but sadly he never got back to me. Shame as I hear such good things Dec 2021- 2010 Facelift TDV8 4.4 AB in Stornoway Grey.

Ironically he replied straight back to my email after I posed above. He is actually in Sheffield tomorrow but has a full day. Hoping I can get him booked to do my fluids.

He is def my preferred option.
