Hi there, I've just joined this forum as picking up my MY17 AB TDV6 in Santorini Black today. It has the 21" wheels on it but I really want a set of 22s, preferably the turbines, but would consider the other RR 22s. I won't be doing much offroading so having the bigger wheels with low profile tyres isn't an issue from that point of view. Would appreciate any advice/comments on whether anyone has done this upgrade?

I’ve had 20’s, 21’s and 22’s on mine - the 22’s are the keepers for me, but I do mostly motorway and faster A roads.

The 22’s are a little firmer, but also roll less on roundabouts - a reasonable trade for me - plus I think they look loads better

I even run 22’s with my winter tyres

Cheers for that. Yeah I have driven one on 22s and it felt spot on, currently trying to source a set of turbines, they’re around £3k but I’m going to see if any of the sellers will do a swap plus cash for them. Doubt it but wel’ll see!

The Chinese crap are a no brainer until they crack and fail sir! Be VERY aware as to where they are made and imported from... Italian wheels are usually MUCH better... Some Chinese wheels are verging on dangerous! I had a customer in last week with a set of £4000 Urban 22's with 275 40 22 contis fitted and one rear wheel had 5 cracks two others has 2 & 3 cracks in! Scrap after less than 6 months!

Check insurance cover too sir... NON OE wheels may leave you uninsured if you have a bad enough knock...

Agree on the insurance - I pay extra as my build sheet says 20’s so I’ve declared the 22’s

As far as copies go, they look better than most, so I hope the build quality is ok

Are the tyres 275 40 22’s ?

Yes they are - LR are fitting 285/40/22 on some vehicles now though 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

They are not Chinese, was the first thing I checked. Have told insurance and there is no extra cost.

I have the 22” turbines, they look very nice on my Santorini black RR.

Given the weight of the car, the poor conditions of UK roads and not always being able to dogde potholes due to width of the car down country lanes, the wheels need to be the best quality and take a lot of abuse.

I would check yours regularly to ensure no cracking (if visible) or change now for OEM’s for peace of mind.
