Hi all,

Here's my 2003 Range Rover 4.4 Litre V8 - BMW Engine.

Here are some photos but thought give list whats been done and maintenance as i know people like to know what gone wrong so on. still by far love the V8 as driven the newer 3.6TDV8 and think the 4.4 V8 is so smooth in power delivery terms... maybe a 5.0 litre in future !

Things I have done to the car,

� Brembo Front Brake upgrade (best mod you can do might I add)
� 22� Hawke Wheels looks very nice and drive ok for what I use it for.

� Front Grill
� Side Vents
� Clear Indicators
� Rear Lights upgraded to 2006-2009
� Speedo Pixel�s Fixed, upgrade to yellow 2006-2009 dials.
� Dice Media Bridge � Bluetooh, USB Port for ipads, Aux input which works with car steering wheel
� Tinted Rear Windows
� Private Plate
� Side Steps
� Mud Flaps

Over Last 6 Years in Order, had warranty which has just run out (2018) and was worth every penny!

1. Alternator
2. Expansion Coolant Tank
3. Few Coolant pipes replaced
4. Water Pump (under warranty)
5. Front Radiator
6. Two front air suspension air bags (under warranty)
7. Parking sensors x3 (under warranty)
8. Headlight control module (under warranty)
9. Door lock assembly (under warranty)
10. Rockers Cover Gaskets
11. Brakes pads all round
12. Discs all round
13. 2x sensors for brake pads
14. Rear hub O/S upper bush
15. 2x front brake pipes
16. Front anti roll bar link (under warranty)
17. heater resister (under warranty)
18. Gearbox rebuilt and torque convertor replaced at 86900 Mileage (under warranty)
19. Front/Rear Diff Oil Changed
20. Transfer Box Oil Changed
21. Suspension Air Compressor (Under Warranty)
22. Left hand side wheel height sensor suspension (under warranty)
23. drivers side seat control unit (under warranty)
24. front left passenger side wiper motor failed replaced (under warranty)
25. PVC oil system pipes failed replaced 2 pipes.
26. Full Engine Refresh (all done same time)
New Timing Chains all three
New Timing guides
Cam Tensioners
Side Tensioner
Front Main Seal
Brand New Vanos Units (no more diesel sound)
Front Radiator again as leak
Thermostat
Gearbox Cooler
Power Steering Pump Refurb

(Part Under Warranty but not a lot !)
29. Rear window Wiper Motor Failed and Replaced
30. ABS Sensor Replaced
31. ABS ECU Replaced
32. New Fuel Pump
33. Water Pump Replaced (old one bearings failed)
34. Gearbox Torque Converter replacement again but under the gearbox specialist 24month warranty 102500 Mileage (reason being seems the rebuild one failed early for some reason)
35. Boot/Bonnet Gas Struts Replaced
36. Front Passenger Side ABS Sensor Replaced due to intermittent error which is now fixed.
37. Replaced Front Right Upper O2 Sensor Bosch Part Number Is (BOSCH 0 258 003 477) (Old One Failed)
38. Replaced Faulty Intermittent Rear Brake Pad Sensor
39. Replaced OEM Windscreen
40. Replaced Boot Rubber Gasket

41. Replaced BCU Body Control Module - Due to losing power steering
42. Replaced Fuel Pump With Pierburg 16116752626
43. Replacement ABS ECU Again...

Haha very true ! If I didn't have the warranty I probably could have !

You would be shocked the amount money the warranty had covered repairing the thing !

when i took out the warranty is was around £1000 including VAT.. to give you idea the gearbox was nearly £2000 on its own well worth its waiting gold as covered the cost.

That's quite a list – It seems to have been quite a good warranty you had there, to have actually paid out for all that stuff. How old was the car when you took out the warranty? 2006MY 4.2 SC

Indeed, whenever something went wrong i got it fixed as like things to work correctly.

Car was just under 10year mark when took warranty out, and i took out a 36 month policy (3years) wont mention company name as not sure forums rules. but was the highest package they had and they always payed out and authorized claims within a few days. only delay i had was with engine work where they sent an engineer to inspect but still payed out what they had too and was more then i thought.

They offered to renew this year but due to car age now and amount of work i had done in my eyes renewing was not needed and not much else to go wrong right ?

Looks nice, how much did the brembo set up cost you?

When my front discs and pads needed doing, i bought secondhand pair supercharged brembos (Around £250 for the pair from land rover breakers) and fitted them with new discs and pads, disc shields. Total around £450 for everything i needed.

Nice, how many miles has it done?

I looked into warranty but on 125k miles most were around 50% towards repairs.

I opted for the AA cover with repair.

Only done 92k on the clocks as of today.

The Range is a Bit Dirty after our little family holiday.. Covered 350-370miles and was lovely and smooth cruising the motorways. love it when its all working

looks good even when dirty !!
Could you tell me a little more about the Dice Audio upgrade it sounds like just the gadget I'm looking for. Will it work with android phones and DSP amp. I've looked at the website but only BMW listed I'm guessing thats one of the units you have used ?

Hey, Its a Dice mediabridge 1500

I had it installed by local guy. works very well. if you google l322 dice mediabridge there are lots topics on details.

as i did not fit i am not sure the whole way of doing it. but i know it replaces the CD charger and use the cd chargers plugs.
