Radio/CD sound disappearing

After my radio or CD has been on for about a minute, it just goes off. The light is still on next to the knob, but no sound. If I turn it off and back on again, the sound returns only to go off again around 60 seconds later.

Only started doing it today- anyone know what it is?

Yes, I think so.

Strangest thing- if I put the radio or CD on, it plays for exactly 2mins and 40 secs, then mutes. I have to turn off the unit then back on to get sound back and the same thing happens again after a further 2mins 40 secs (yes, I've timed it!).

Any ideas?

That sounds like some internal safety that stops overheating.

I mean there is still something broken.

Other option is a PCB fault where the warming of the circuit board and the expansion "disconnects" something or a component loses contact when it gets warm. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

If you definitely have DSP you could really do with an alternative DSP unit to try in place of your own.

Can't see any in the electrical section, but the spare wheel is wet on top
