Not sure if this is the right place to put this, and apologies if it's a well-known fault which I haven't spotted on here before, but here goes:
My TDV8 has strangely started being extremely difficult to fill up with fuel - it 'blows back' constantly making it impossible to put fuel in at more than a trickle so it takes an absurd amount of time to fill it. It never used to do this, and my previous RRs (albeit petrol supercharged 35th and 2x 4.4s) didn't either.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

Try holding nozzle at the 9 o'clock or upside down position.

Try different pump / petrol station ?

Check breather pipes (for filler neck and main tank) RAVE not very helpful here on a TD6, however if these are all blocked i would guess engine wouldn't run or tank would implode? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Land Rover issued a service bulletin about this and the fix was to replace the filler pipe between the filler and the tank.

We asked about it when our old FFRR was serviced and they changed it FOC.

Do you know how long these 'technical service bulletins' are valid for? I assume you can't just go to a LR main dealer and expect them to change it on an 08 plate now?.... RR Vogue TDV8 08

Check you have not set the mis-fuel device. Look down the filler neck, if you can see a yellow plate blocking the filler neck you have set off the mis-fuel device and need to reset it. 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

I was at a petrol station the other days and the pump was painfully slow , I asked the attendant he mentioned that when the temperature gets to extreme low temps (-1 or lower) the pumps begin to play up at the forecourt themselves. There should be a reset tool in your boot sir...

The pumps will often pump slower as the diesel is that bit thicker and they aren't designed well enough in the UK to cope with it

Its ok in your car as the excess high pressure stuff flows back to the tank which warms it up. No such process in the petrol station, the pump just pumps in one end and out the other and the fuel is in a big metal tank underground as well Though i think these days they are plastic but not sure, but its still freezing down there! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
