Anyone know the part numbers for the sunroof seal and the trims down the side of the rear tail gate glass?

Hi,

The tailgate glass side rubber trims are DED500180 and DED500190. I replaced mine last week.

The tailgate strips weren't on the earlier cars, they only appeared on the later ones. When the ones on my 2012 started to corrode and look scruffy I just removed them and didn't bother to replace them as the tailgate looks cleaner without them. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Were they straightforward to replace? It looks like they just lever off? 1972 Series 3 full of character

I assumed they had a purpose maybe part of a ‘sealing system’?

I guess you’ve not had any issues since removing them? 1972 Series 3 full of character

They have a rubber tab on the lower end which was impossible to tuck back under the glass so I cut that off and pushed the strips onto each side of the glass. They fit tight enough without it and they haven’t moved since fitting them. Upper edge which tucks under the spoiler has some sealant already applied to the new rubber so just had to peel off the protective film on it and then press down firmly. You will see the rubber tabs I’m talking about when you get the new ones.

My understanding of these trims is they are to stop rain water running down on you off the edge of the glass when the tailgate is open. Certainly seems to do the trick and with my car being silver they definitely make the gap between the glass and the D pillars less noticeable, otherwise you could see the silver of the bodywork between. 2012 Westminster TDV8 4.4 Indus Silver
